Simi Sunset Rotary Club's Gator Run had the advantage of participating in two premier ActiveRewards sampling programs, Detour Bar and Aquaphor. The annual Gator Run benefits the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation and other local causes. The mission of the Search Dog Foundation is to produce the most highly trained canine disaster search teams in the nation. Lynda Nickolai, race director of the Gator Run, has teamed up with ActiveRewards for two consecutive years to bring her race participants relevant, healthy product samples. In 2008, Gator Run participated in the Detour Bar and Aquaphor programs, which geared the Gator Run participants with both an energizing snack and a moisturizing healing ointment to make their running experience more comfortable and exciting.
The Gator Run coincides with the Cajun Creole Music Festival (Simi Valley, CA), which features Cajun and Zydeco music provided by bands from around the county. Be sure to check out the Gator Run and Cajun Creole Music Festival web sites for further details:
